Title: Weather or Not
Post by: Queequeg on January 10, 2025, 03:37:26 PM
Snow's falling down and piling up ar a pretty good clip right now.
Of course that's what happens here in Michigan.
But I know much of the country, particularly a band across central states have been getting lots of winter weather and blizzard like conditions that aren't quite so common in some of these areas.
We have concert tickets for tonight, but it is in town and we don't have to travel the highways to get there so I expect we will go in spite of it all.

Here's hoping you are all safe and warm And not sliding around in this stuff.

Meanwhile, forum members and friends in Southern California are suffering through horrendous wildfires, the likes of which I have never had to deal with.

There's been a terrible loss of homes, even entire neighborhoods.
The loss of life has been surprisingly small thankfully, at least so far as has been reported.

Be safe you all, wherever you are and help one another as best you can.

Enjoy the concert. In Manitowoc County Wisconsin, we could get between 2 and 5 inches of snow.

Even with the recent snow, it seems to be shaping up to be another winter on the milder side here in West Michigan. But I'm up early to get coffee going and commence my snow plowing tour of our little wilderness cul-de-sac. Sure haven't pushed much snow these past three winters. I can't imagine going thru what's happening out in California. I worked a few remote lightning strike fires many years ago as a volunteer firefighter way up north, the magnitude of which were nothing compared to these monster blazes out west. Nice to see that our Canadian and Mexican neighbors are sending much needed helpers to fight the fires.

Atlanta just got it's first snow since 2018, a whole 2" dump that stopped with the sunrise. Atlanta excels in maintaining 33 degrees and the temps only drop lower when there's not a cloud in the sky.

Being a Florida boy I still get excited at my late age with the sight of fluffy white snowflakes, not so much with the black ice.
