I've seen some instruments that have a Sitka top but say they have Adirondack bracing. Does Adirondack have any effect on the sound if it only is used for the braces?

If you can hear it, I guess there's a difference.
I'm sure I wouldn't hear it.
(What else are they going to do with those little slivers of adi? Hate to throw them out. Make toothpicks?)

Any change in materials, especially related to the top, could seemingly affect the sound since they can affect the weight and stiffness of the top.  How much difference does it make would be my question.

I was just watching a video of the new Larrivee 24 series. In the video they say the braces are made from moon spruce.  And yet the top is Adirondack. I was surprised by this.

My guess is that you could request specific bracing to match or compliment a specific top wood.

My ear would most likely be unable to tell the difference in bracing wood variations. I think top woods used, scalloped versus straight bracing, body shape and scale length have a bigger impact on sound but I could be wrong.

One month in, I'm really happy with my 00-24 that has a mahogany top, back and sides, scalloped moonwood spruce bracing and a short scale. This combination really projects well and the 00 is the second smallest bodied guitar I have.

I'm pretty sure larrivee's default wood for bracing is moonwood.
