Extraordinary solar activity bombarding earth's upper atmosphere tonight.

I shot these last night just after 10:00pm EDT.
For whatever reason I do not know, the camera captures more color than what the naked eye sees.

Nice pics. I lived in Juneau, Alaska from 2000-2010 and saw it many times up there.

The aurora is one in the bucket that will likely never be realized for me.
