Title: Paul McCartney
Post by: ducktrapper on July 21, 2023, 06:01:17 PM
Any Macca fans? I just ordered some stuff that I was missing. McCartney III and Wild Life which I swore I had but can't find. I'm a bit of a completist but I love everything he does.

Love McCartney. I love them all, but Chaos and Creation in the Back Yard is an amazing album.

It's a fine line but with McCartney playing 90% (or more) of the instruments and all the vocals, it could have been McCartney III before McCartney III.

I agree with that, it certainly would have been a good candidate as McCartney III. One album that I also like, which may not be his best, is Flowers in the Dirt. I was a teenager in the 90's and heard it and it was my gateway into McCartney's solo work.

Ah yes. During his brief collaboration with Elvis Costello. Elvis was supposed to be like a new John Lennon.   They wrote a couple of pretty good tunes together but apparently did not get along that well.

McCartney III came today. One listen, so far. I like it.
