Title: RS-4 truss rod question
Post by: robwms on August 08, 2022, 04:42:41 PM
Any tips on freeing up a stuck truss rod spoke wheel? Absolutely won't move in either direction. RS-4 made in April 2009.
Thanks!  :donut :donut2 :donut :donut2 :coffee :wave

You can try a drop of 3in1 oil  only if can get close to the wheel nearest the body.Only try loosening the wheel.I've use this on some Musicman guitars that had the wheel.

Thanks for weighing in Rob (great name by the way).

After 3 days of gentle persuasion, I overcame my fear of breaking something and gave the allen wrench a manly tug  :whistling: in one direction and then the other. Back and forth a few times, increasing the pressure each time. Something finally clicked and grudgingly, the wheel started to move. One leftward turn was all it took to stop the buzzing.

This guitar tech stuff is pretty easy  :humour:  :nana_guitar
