Hello Larrivee-Users,
I'm wondering what kind of Larriveee-Model I've bought a few years ago. The previous owner told me this guitar was from 1984 and is a OM-Model...
Here I play a Pat Metheny Cover-Version (Everyday I thank you) on this guitar.
Thanks for your help and best regards
Martin

Label in the guitar says "Jean Larrivee Guitares" Victoria, B.C. Canada.
But I can not find any serial-number.
OM body. Without seeing the back or sides, hard to narrow it down definitely.

My satellite internet prevents me from seeing a good quality video.
Look inside at the neck block, the SN will be stamped there.
The guitar (90 percent) is either mahogany or rosewood.
I would not believe you cannot tell the difference.

JCL started regularly using serial numbers in November 1977. This was just shortly after the shop moved from Toronto to Victoria. There were definitely some inconsistencies in the early going but if one is on the neck-block as suggested likely:
4 digits stamped on neckblock XXXX
neckblock - two digit Series followed by up to five digit serial number XX XXXX
Having said all that, even if there is a serial # - there was a period of time where those records have been misplaced and are lost.
Otherwise your guitar would be (assuming rosewood) would be the equal of today's L-09 and may have called it an L-07 , L-09 or L-11 at the time
I can not see a serial number at the neck block, because there is the housing of the 9V-Batterie (this was later built in for a fishman pickup).
So I have to get off the strings to do more research on this thing...
Just found an old notice "OM-09" with a picture
