Just out of idle curiosity, what kind of amp do you use for your pickup-equipped acoustic?
I have 4. An old JC-120, a Loudbox mini-charge, a JC-22 and Roland Mobile AC.
All are good for what they do, and were purchased over a longer period of time, mostly cause they were deals and so they are just what I ended up with.
The guitars have K&K pure mini, and I also use Baggs M1 passive and a Sunrise. All Larrivees.
I have other pickups as well, but they are junk.
Those who think amped acoustics are heresy are also welcome to comment.

My fav is my old Fender Princeton Reverb though playing out I run thru a passive direct box into a PA.
I have a Fender Passport 250 system and a Bose L-1 compact system depending on room size. I've used both together, as well. For best results, I use a Sansamp Para Driver DI with the Fender but the Bose, for smaller venues and just around the house, doesn't seem to need any sort of preamp with a K&K pure mini. Shure SM-58 for vocals, 57 to mic guitar if necessary. Very low tech and easy to transport and set up/tear down. At least that's how they are intended to work not that I do much with them nowadays. :beer

An Ultrasound AG50-DS2 if accurate acoustic sound is the goal.

Gear wise, everything I buy becomes obsolete the moment I buy it. Stater of the art is available the next day. Oh well. Looks like I'm obsolete, as well. :beer

I think obsolete depends on what your needs are. Plenty of stuff out there been around a long time and still popular.
For example, the little Mobile AC, which is very small, battery op, can't be played loud, sounds horrible if you sit right in front of it, and does best with passive pickups. I got it a few years ago for a trip to Sweden, where I used it to it's optimum. Turn it around facing a wall, and now you (and anyone else in the room) is listening to an 8 foot tall guitar lightly chorused at low volume. It's very cool. Probably other tiny amps do similar better, but I am still happy with it. Use it all the time.

It's not obsolete if it's still doing what you bought it to do, and it isn't cost-effective to use something different.
My L1 Compacts fit that criterion right up to the moment I sold them.

My signal chain is:
1) Guitar 1 (SBT and Mag) => Pendulum Audio pickup/pickup module or Guitar 2 (SBT and internal mic) => Pendulum Audio pickup/mic module
2) => Pendulum Audio SPS-1 Stereo Preamp/EQ with a TC Electronics M3000 effects processor in the effects loop
3) => Bryston 3B ST Dual mono power amp
4) => Pair of Daedalus W803 three-way passive speakers on stands.
Often, I blend the two pickups in guitar 1 into channel one of the SPS-1 or not use the internal mic in guitar 2 and use an external condenser mic into channel 2 of the SPS-1.
I've been using this setup, with minor changes, for over 15 years. I see and hear no reason to change it out for something else.
A dual Baggs IBeam/Crown GLM 200 mic into Rane AP-13 and Audio Technical AE5400 vocal mic into a Rane VP-12 with both signals into a Boss Singer Live and an Alto TS-8 powered speaker.
If acoustic only or acoustic and vocals, an old Ultrasound AG50-DS2. It is still a great sounding amp for a small room.
If I'm putting acoustic parts into the loop stuff I do, it all goes thru my (again, old) Peavey Studio Pro 40. Well, after going thru a small string of pedals.
I keep thinking I should update stuff, but it all works and sounds like what I want.
