What happened to the forum? When I joined in 2007 it was more active...what happened?
More modern forms of computer communication... where it's easy to have real time conversations, easier to share media (pics, sound, video, etc.) Before forums like this, there were Compuserve and AOL groups, Usenet, and dialup BBS (bulletin board service) groups. As technology advances, the majority of people advance with it.
Not meant as an insult to the group, mods, or owners, or software writers.
Ed
Thanks Ed
I must be getting old :bgrin:
Cheers :cheers
They are all at the AGF........ :roll
Joke aside.......Face book, Internet, may be the culprit, who knows. But we are still here in dribs and drabs. 2007, WOW!! That is a long time. :bgrin:

Where better to keep up with all things Larrivée and so much more! :cheers
I only do this forum.I don't facebook, text, tweet or any other stuff.Been here since 2003. :wave
I still prefer this forum to social media.
- No advertising
- No third-party tracking (so you won't see advertising for things you mention here when you go to other sites)
- Easier to follow discussions
- Longer, typically more thoughtful responses
- It seems less likely that things you say here will be consolidated with the aggregate profile view of your identity that is being compiled by (who wants to think about who is tracking your every keystroke on the web)

I am grateful I misbehave sometimes and haven't been kicked out.
I would hate it if things I say here were consolidated with the aggregate profile view of my identity......

I do too.... I've been busy lately on the UMGF and AGF but now I only have two guitars. I always felt cozy here :thumbsup
Maybe all of us are playing our guitars more. :nana_guitar
This forum is so much better than the "other" big one, where the same subjects are brought up every other day. Like "do bridge pins make a difference" or some other worn out trivial topic.
There is a good classified for sale section over there, but I have never bought anything from it. I have been lucky to find 3 top shelf Larrivees and my Goodall on Craigslist here in the San Francisco Bay Area over the last 15 years. Bought my JCL 40th new from Jean and Matt at the Oxnard shop back in 2008. But there sure are a lot of incredible hand made custom guitars for sale over on AGF.
I've been coming here for a few years and it's not changed. Sometimes busier than others.
I wasn't here in 07' but I know forum culture and online discussions have changed. I think forums in general peaked around 10 years ago, and it was a more popular thing. A lot of the old forums I was visiting on 06'-12' are less active now, despite the subject being as popular as ever.
In addition to people being less excited about forums, a lot of people are also going to more general subject/larger forums. There are several companies I patronize who have dead forums, but they are very active on twitter and they are talked about actively on reditt.
