I have to put my hands together for those celebrity that have donated funds towards helping the Bushfire victims and Fire Fighters here in Australia. 'Pink' has just opened her heart and donated $500,000.00..........God Bless Her.
We hope and pray that all our friends are well and safe. Please let us know if are all safe, if you can. God Bless.
Here is just one example of the ferociousness of the fire these heroes have put up with...........

What a devastation for your country. It is hard to know what to say in the face of it. I hope you are safe, fongie, and that your loved ones are safe, too. The news story you linked to brought the reality of it home to me, so intense. Yes, Pink has done a great thing.
What a nightmare. I've read that arson is behind many of these fires. WTF? Apparently, the same thing started the massive Fort McMurray fire in Northern Alberta. Its debatable whether climate change makes these fires more likely but this trend is very scary.

Please do be careful, Fongie.
These firefighters really are heroes.
They're saving lives every day.
And yes- thank you to everyone who donates to help them and help those who have lost everything.

You have to admire anyone who runs into the places everyone else is running out of! Heroes, for sure. :thumb
Cheers guys, we are fine, thank you. It came close. It would be nice if we could hear from Scott and the others, I'm sure the fires are in their neck of the woods.
Yes, it has been heart breaking, not just for the residents, Fire fighters but for the animals. Break my heart to see thousands of animal bodies (wild and domesticated) laying dead on the roads, burnt alive. Makes you wonder what they went through. This has finally sunk in to all of Australia, how serious these fires have been and still is. We hope and pray for rain, lots of it very soon.
Yes Arsons have been blamed for some, makes you wonder how sick some are and what goes through their heads.
Thanks guys for your prayers.
..........Oh a special 'Thanks' again to all the Celebrities and everyone here in Australia and around the Globe that has donated funds. So far the donations is over 20,000,000 dollars and rising. Our heart goes out to you all. God Bless.

U-Rob thank you for your offer. Cheers No need to donate anything, your thoughts and prayers are all we need.
I think our Prime minister who is right now in the firing line with whole of Australia, would read this post and see the heart warming gesture from you and everyone. Instead, he was having a holiday in Hawaii while the country burns.
Cheers U-Rob

While we're being buried in snow, our cosmopolitan PM is in the Caribbean. No sign of his wife. Mini scandal. Don't you just love politicians?

:yak:........shame
Just to show the cost of the devastation these fires have cost so far..........over 8,700 home owners so far has put claims. Cost, over 700,000,000.00 AUD and climbing so far. Not counting those that are not insured. Many more claims unaccounted still.
So heart breaking, no words can describe what these Aussies went through. Those that have lost their lives defending their properties, RIP.

G'day Fongie.
We are all good mate, I have family up in that region who are farmers, they are on high alert. We were up there on Christmas holidays quite near the fire zone, police did the go around and told everybody to get out now while it was still safe to do so. We took their advice and left and came back down home. The weather hasn't been so severe the last three or four days, but the fires are still not under control. More heat forecast over the next few days, so everyone is still on edge. Thanks for the thoughts everybody.
Cheers, Scott.

The sound of rain has been a blessing, God send. I hope and pray everyone else gets the same. We have had way over 100ml, haven't check the gauge yet but I'm sure it is. Happy. :+1:
