I suppose a resolution with another name is still a resolution, and I try not to make those, but human nature loves a fresh start. Not only are we looking at a new year, but a new decade, which seems even more exciting. What are your hopes for this new season?
Mine? I hope to be a better family man. Someone recently told me I should spend twice the time on my family and half the money. Good counsel there. A good way to do this is to include my family in whatever I happen to be doing. If I'm running errands, take someone along who wants to go. If I'm cleaning the garage, turn down the stereo and make it a time for conversation, etc etc. Not hard but it takes intentionality.
I'm off TV almost entirely but want to do even better. I also hope to get out and play more in retirement homes, and involve my family more in that. I've written one novel (unpublished) and there's another in my head somewhere that needs to see the light of day. I need to worry less, smile more, and get reacquainted better with wonder. I'm 45 and have lived half my life and dislike the trajectory I see if I don't do some things differently.
Oh yeah, 20 pounds off my body would probably feel like winning the lottery.
Here's wishing everyone a great 2020.
:thumb.........I nearly lost my life 2 years ago, I was very lucky my wife found me and gave me CPR, before the Ambo's arrived and gave me 5 hit of defibrillation (electric shock) to restart my pulse/heart. Now I have a defibrillator inserted in me for life.
For my New Year resolution is 1) Pay it forward, always giving to the Ambos and the medical people behind it 2) appreciate/enjoy life 3) SPEND.......life is too short. Whatever the family wants.(if you can afford) Yippie more guitars :nana_guitar :bgrin:

Walking is great! That's why I have the big doggie. He keeps me active. :beer
Fongie, did your major medical event make the presses here on the forum two years ago? If so, I had forgotten. Wow, I'm so very glad that you are alive and taking care of yourself. My hopes for 2020 are that you stay that way.
For myself? Joy at work. Joy at home. And health for everyone. Vague, I know. And maybe a miracle on guitar in the skill department.

Noop I don't think so, I noticed his absence for a couple years and wondered why. Glad Fongie you got to stick around, the world, Aus and this place is a better place for it! :cheers
Anyone in contact with Danny? Hope all is good?
To "Love deeper, spoke sweeter, and gave forgiveness I'd been denying" ( Tim McGraw in "Live Like You Were Dying".
That along with playing more guitar. :nana_guitar
Hopefully my life gets better,I'm soon to be divorced as some of you may know.
It's been a tough yr
Hope to learn more about the wonderful instrument we all play
And always striving to be a better person

Cheers Ryler and J from NS........oh it's only something that comes with old age. A good lesson for me and anyone else that don't take their medication and stay in shape. The one thing I've learnt, is warning signs, well, I hope that's what it is. Cheers guys appreciated.

I was like you U-Rob, hate meds and still hate it. But I wished I did take it, it was only one then, now it was 11 down to 6 since my episode. :yak: Not nice
So take it U-Rob........
The meds made me sick and fat, took 5 years to go from 260lbs to 175lbs.I feel so much better though the arthritist kicks my but and the pain can be bad but I hold off until I can't stand it or my wife slaps me up side the head and tells me take a pill your crying and its p*ssin me off.Gluten for pain but I can play the blue's much better now. :cheers

U-Rob you are right about being 'Fat' from 65kg I shot up to 80kg since my episode. Well the meds I blame but there were other things that would have contributed, like age, not being as active, my diet etc, etc. My body has bulked up a little more but my tummy, OMG, is shocking.
I don't think the belly ever goes away.Still got mine.I still try to walk about an hour a day.As my mom use to say getting old is a b*tch and s**ks too. When was on the meds I ate 6-7 time's a day and didn't want to walk much either.Plus feeling stone or drunk plus my family told me I was mean a lot.
