There's all kinds of FB groups out there.
Martin lovers, high end guitars, low end guitars etc.
I stumbled across an interesting one recently called;
"Grumpy old anarchistic guitar players"
this is from the admins.
1. no rules- got a problem with that?
2. don't like something? -tough -CENSORED-.
3. stay off my f@#%ing grass.
the top post is always
"don't bother reporting posts- we don't care"
interestingly, it's not a rude or "bashing" site.
some fun stuff.
Something for everyone on The Net that's for sure

My irony deficiency may be showing, but no matter how hard I crank the gain on the old "cognitive dissonance" booster, I'm finding the concept of an anarchist group using facebook to be quite hilarious.
I've been in a couple and end up quitting them. Too many friend requests. I made the mistake of accepting them all. I went from a few dozen friends and family members to several hundred. That just cluttered up my newsfeed. Ended up unfriending anyone I hadn't actually met or at least communicated with. :?
I've been thinking about signing up for a FB account.
As soon as someone holds a gun to my head.

Well, someone has to be smarter than everybody else! :laughin:
If you have to be on Facebook (work, family, publishing where you're playing, access to Facebook messenger) check out
News Feed Eradicator (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/news-feed-eradicator-for/fjcldmjmjhkklehbacihaiopjklihlgg?hl=en)
When there's no news feed, you can decide what you will see. That is, you can create shortcuts to the groups you want to visit. And you have to navigate to the people with whom you want to interact.
This cuts out all of the distractions and the mindless scroll, click-bait, and advertising.

You would have to do that if you have hundreds of friends posting constantly. I arrived at a similar destination by unfriending anyone who wasn't actually a friend. I hope I didn't hurt any feelings if anyone even noticed. :beer
You can also just ignore peoples' posts without having to hurt their feelings by unfriending them. I've done this with some folks who just post WAY TOO MUCH on Facebook.
Another observation: Facebook users seem to be around 90-95% women - at least in my age bracket (over 50 ... okay, okay; I'm 61!!!). The "social" part of FB just seems more geared to the way women want to stay in touch and be involved in every facet of each other's lives.
I'm still on FB mostly to use the Messenger feature to stay in touch with my kids/grandkids, and to send out communications for our church (Facebook is actually more useful than a web page for this). Otherwise, it can be a huge time sucker...

Sure but I guess if people I've never met, won't ever meet and don't even know get offended that I've unfriended them ... I don't much care. I try to not offend but these days that's almost impossible. Heck, you can get in big trouble just for telling people they should wear a poppy in honor of those who died for your right not to. :?
