Does anybody have any suggestions for touching up minor scratches on a satin finish to help color match the wood and make the ding less obvious?
Thanks!
Bill
Is the wood being color matched because the damage went past the finish? You can buy tints but, because it naturally changes color over time, you may want to leave it alone, depending on the difference in shade.
To match satin, I personally just use a grade of sandpaper (around 2000) that gets that soft look. But, it depends on the spot. You can't do it as easily on a big, flat surface.
As a repairperson who has seen more then my fair share of attemps at finish touch up's leave it alone and live with it.
Returing back to my cave, give me a second before you start throwing stuff at me. :donut :donut :donut
Great advice. Thanks for the input guys! I have decided to leave it alone.
