I don't come by often but I noticed that there was a conspicuous lack of holiday cheer. I'll be sitting by the fire with my old Larrivee and Martin and playing Xmas carols and various other nondenominational (and potentially politically incorrect) winter selections and hope that you all feel the same.
Happy holidays! :nana_guitar
Its all just another day for me BUT my wife likes to spoil our son even though he's now 19.I do like to pass on good cheer to all.Bake at ya.
Merry Christmas you all.
I'm sitting by the fire roasting a few chestnuts, having just scraped my boots clean of reindeer scat for the third time today.
Through the picture window, I see that snow is gently falling on the ice rink as the children try to catch the flakes on their tongues.
My neighbor is up on a ladder stringing lights around the gazebo in his backyard while his wife offers helpful suggestions to him. He doesn't seem to hear her, but she is not to be dissuaded.
The little church across the street is all lit up and their parking lot is nearly full this evening.
I have some spiced cider on the stove. I don't actually drink it but it fills the place with a nice, cheery aroma. You see, I just don't care much for those scented candles.
There's a basket on the coffee table for Christmas cards, but I've come to realize that most folks don't send them anymore. They'll text me or post something on Facebook instead. But my insurance agent sent me a new calendar again this year.
Today is my mother's birthday. She would have been 95 today, and most of the ornaments on this tree were hers. No question about it - Christmas was her favorite time of year.
It's not like it used to be, I guess that much is clear. But I still celebrate it and enjoy it and recall all the memories I have of Christmas Past, both real and imagined.
Here's to each of you and your families. Wishing you peace and good will.
God bless us, everyone.
Thanks, Kwakatak. Thanks for the holiday cheer. You're right, we could use some! :cheers Merry Christmas, happy holidays!
"God bless us, everyone."
He most certainly has Mark, in more ways than we know or think.
A blessed Christmas to all.
Merry Christmas to all, may our blessings be many and may we know them!
