Post by: unclrob on July 03, 2018, 02:12:49 PM
I ordered a MIC Guild 2512 12 string and I waiting for its arrival. Its basically a Guild JF30/12 with a hog neck instead of a maple neck.Ya I know its not a Larrivee but its all I can afford and I really miss my Guld JF30/12 and the Seagul just isn't doing it for me and I have high hope's that the MIC will come close.Update when it arrive's.

They don't all have to be LarrivĂ©es Rob. Sounds like a good guitar.  :cheers

I've read others on the AGF really like these, I've got the D-1212 myself, all mahogany dread, very easy to play and I'll not be getting rid of it anytime soon. I think you're really going to be happy with it. Congrats !

I have a Guid GadJ30 in the house that belongs to a friend, its a flat back and in my HO its the best sounding copy of a Gibson J200 I've every played.Lots of tone and none of the Gibson chugga-chugga and no dead bass.

Well it made it alive.Overall a very good build, came with a fishman pu of some sort I haven't plugged it in yet but will do later today.the only complaints I have is I did not get a invoice with it,the strings were well aged but not a big deal but it would have been nice.and the battery and jack are mounted on the lower side bout.It should be said that the maple has no figuring but it is not a big deal I hardly ever look at my guitar when I'm playing.Came with a nice gig bag but I do prefer a hard case and I just happen to have one.Sorry no pix as I don't have a camera or a phone that take's pix. :wave

OK just played it for a while,pu come's with a volumn and a tone control, the tone control is just barely usable not much sweep. The pu is kinda dark sounding but my PARA Direct EQ may fix that.I have to do a setup yet and install a bone saddle but I gotta get to know it better first.

Rob, you might check the manufacturer's description of the "tone" control: many of them on today's acoustic pickups aren't a true tone control (adding or removing highs); many of them are more of a midrange sweep or something like a phase control... so you won't hear the typical sonic change you'd normally expect. Both my Martin D-35 and Gibson J-45 tone controls work in this fashion. Still useful, but different.

Well got to use it at its first gig and it preform well.Rev yes its more of a mid control, wish it wasn't there but the PARA Direct EQ cure the issue's.
