It's an all-laminate guitar, which seems counter intuitive to quality top of the line sound. But most of the iconic Gibsons were/are laminated, at least in the body.

With the P90's being part of the top, they restrict some of the wood vibrations, but pick up some tone, too. Where can I play one?

thanks for the post...some good informed info:) No idea where you are located but you could hit the Collings site and find the closest dealer and hope they have one coming. Thanks for the interest.
