Title: My Larrivée Serial number
Post by: cbbelcher on July 12, 2016, 01:30:09 PM
I bought a Larrivée acoustic guitar years ago from a local shop. At the time, I had an under saddle pickup installed, for which the technician mounted a battery bracket on the neck block for the preamp battery. I assumed at the time that the bracket covered up my guitar's serial number. Recently my home insurance company asked that I catalog my instruments for them to be able to insure them against loss. When I removed the battery mount, there was no serial number. I checked the instrument from top to bottom and I can find nothing but the Larrivée label on the back of the inside of the guitar. How then can I go about identifying and dating the instrument? Any help is much appreciated.

Can you post a picture of your guitar's label inside the body? Depending on how old your Larrivee is, earlier ones didn't have a serial number, they just had the year written on the label (like '77, or '79, etc.).

Any idea how old your Larry is?
