Why are the majority of guitarplayers guys?
Because guy's made it that way.The best drummer and lead guitar player that I've ever played with wear women.
I don't think it takes guys as long to get around to doing something just because they want to. I often struggle with the nagging feeling that there's something else I *should* be doing--around the house, or for the kids, etc.

UnclRob,
Want to clarify, I wasn't saying women and girls weren't as good, just that there weren't as many playing. It seems like this is an area dominated by males.
Wyodeb, I think you have a point here. I find that I can find an excuse to curl up with my guitar much sooner than my wife can find her book. There is always something that needs to be done in the house or with the kids.

I don't know......but there's other instruments that girls seemed to dominate by numbers. And I think clarinet was one....so I (a clairinetist) was always surrounded by girls in band (well, sat by me anyway)....and lo and behold, I'm in clerical field, and I'm surrounded by women. Wow....this is opening an interesting thought....I played guitar 'cause I wanted girls to sit next to me?
Women were always put down when they became rocker in my early days not lady like or the were considered the L word and nobody wanted to play with them. Also not enough guitar player roll modals to strive for.Now you see female guitar players all over the place.
