Lately, two or three times a day, when Jun walks into the living room, where the 000-60 sits in a stand, he asks for the "tar-tar." So, we "play" guitar together.
That looks like so much fun!
Am looking forward to many evenings like that with my little wonder as he gets older.
Will he be getting his own Larrivee when he's older GA-ME?

Jonsey76, he has a Martin S-O Mahogany Ukulele that I will start him out on in a few more months. If he ends up pursuing guitar, and ends up being right handed, he will get a little Khaya/Adi L00 style guitar I built a couple years ago. If he progresses, then I'll let him pick a good guitar out for himself, as he gets older. He can have the 000-60 if he likes it as well. It would be fun if he takes up guitar, but it doesn't really matter to me WHAT he plays only that I ensure he DOES play music. On a different note, the pic of your wee one and Dragon 12er will make a nice GOTM start for the coming year!

Strings, precious indeed. I never would have guessed that I'd end up a father this late in life, nor that I'd love being one quite so much. I feel blessed in joy and wonder watching him grow into his own personality and personhood.

Yes, it does. I did a nobo thru-hike in 2003. In fact, my little man is a result of the hike. My wife and I met 70 miles into our hikes, at Bly Gap, and hiked the remainder of the trail together.

The 000-60 was bought to play, to make music. I beat it like it owes me money and the thousands of hours of play on it show in a myriad of ways. Jun knows "gentle" and he has been around instruments since birth. Quite frankly, I'd rather end up with a musical son than own pristine instruments. To each their own.

Very cool story. I completed a sobo (ME-GA) hike with my dog last year. It was an amazing experience.
I picked up guitar couple months before I hit the trail, and when I came back the feel of a guitar took on another meaning for me. I started learning with my friend's classical guitar, bought my own seagull s6, and now I have a used Larrivee d-04 :)
Did you take a guitar with you on your hike?
I hiked pretty lightly on my thru-hike, so there was nothing extraneous in my pack. I just played guitars where the were available like at Elmer's in Hot Springs and especially a Rob's in Dalton Ma. On another note, I met my first SOBO hiker near the entrance of Harriman State Park. I met quite a few over the following few weeks as all the NOBO and SOBO hikers crisscrossed one another.
Small world. I also strummed a few chords on Rob's guitar down in Erwin, TN. He moved south from Dalton not too long ago. Very nice guy.
