Title: Larrivee P01R
Post by: Gary787 on April 18, 2013, 06:47:26 AM
Hi I have an opportunity to buy a 2000 Larrivée P01R. I can't find any information on what it sold for 13 years ago or what a fair price would be for it now. Can anyone help? :beer

I don't think it matters what it sold for new, its probably worth between $600 to $800 depending on condition.

That was about my guess.

The P01 has been discontinued for some time due to the P03 models popularity. I wouldn't pay much more than 700 as you can obtain a new P03 for a couple hundred more bucks.

They originally sold for $400 to $450 with a gigbag - no hardhsell case back then. But used P-01's sell for the same as the used P-03's as far as I've seen these days - between $600 and $800 depending on condition and whether or not it has a hardshell case or just the original gigbag.

I have owned and played a lot of Larrivee rosewood parlors and among the best was one of the original rosewood ones. It was very resonant and had a very open tone. I've never owned one as nice as that one...

Know any other 12 year old, plain no frills guitar, built "low end", that sell half again over original price? A used guitar that sells for a good bit more than original price. I think I'll hang onto mine.
