Title: Sold - THANKS! Larrivee - Upgraded Forum IV w/Gotoh Tuners...All Mahogany 00.
Post by: rwskaggs on July 23, 2012, 11:30:23 AM
I've struggled some time with this, but I'm finally putting my Forum IV up for sale only for a firm $1000 to me after expenses.   :nice guitar:

If it doesn't sell for that, I'm convinced that I should hold onto it...  It is being posted here first to give the Larrivee Forum Family a shot at it.  It would be nice if it stayed 'around here'; maybe I can hear clips from time to time!

There was an attempt to reproduce this custom run as a Forum VI, but unfortunately there weren't enough buyers to commission it.  Lots of folks were frustrated, I know...  You can see the thread at:  http://www.larriveeforum.com/smf/index.php?topic=39627.0

I am the second owner; this one is #23 of 29 in the 2010 run.  Serial #110226.

Upgrades include:

*  Bone / abalone numbered bridgepins
*  Gotoh SG-381 Gold Tuners with Ebony Tuner Buttons
*  John Pearse Ebony Armrest (easily removed - just held on with their excellent double-sided tape)
*  JJB Prestige #330 Passive Pickup (Equivalent of K&K Pure Western Mini - I use these in all my guitars)
*  Gold Endpin Jack Cover to match gold tuners
*  Custom bone saddle and matching nut - installed just this June with a fresh setup
*  Fresh Martin 80 / 20 Bluegrass strings - put on today
*  Clear plastic pickguard (must need it, b/c my pinky resting on it has polished IT up rather than the guitar top!)

This is a sweet sounding and playing guitar that is in great shape.  I always reveal any issues and want anyone with whom I trade or sell guitars to be completely happy with the deal.

Comes with the original case and truss rod wrench.  I'll include all invoices for work done by my tech so you will know the guitar's history.

Inevitable question:  "Why sell it?"

The simple answer is, I play my OM-05MT much more and have played it out quite a bit.  The Forum IV resides in my humidity-controlled office for occasional enjoyment, but my all mahogany needs are covered pretty well with the other guitar.  No sense in hoarding one just because it's unique.

Speaking of unique, the original owner asked that the factory put fret markers on the UNDERSIDE of the neck so he could play it left-handed / upside down.  This alone makes the guitar even more unusual, as it is a normal right-handed guitar in every other way.

Not open to trades, but always open for questions!

:whistling:  Well, that's always curbed my GAS acquisitions too!  (good thing...)

Sorry about the lousy photos - it was raining here this morning, and office pics were all I could do...
