Title: A "Bling" for my Beater
Post by: maLavvo on April 17, 2012, 12:36:31 AM
I just recently put a "bling" on my beater Sigma Martin SDR-28.  Just like to share with folks here in the forum -  :laughin:

Very well done. I had a Sigma early 70's model in 74 or so.

Nicely done! Are those appliqués or are they inlaid? Whatever, they do look good.

Thanks guys.  It is just an $8 sticker  :laughin: got it on eBay.  They even have some tree-of-life kind of....

This Sigma I think is from the '80-'83 model Korean made.  Not bad for an affordable (<$200) solid wood guitar.

When I got this guitar, the sound was too bright, twangy kind of, hard to recognize the difference between notes.  A lot of buzzing too from the bridge side.  I read some info in the frets.com and here in the forum.  I cleaned the nut and saddle, replaced the pins and put in Curt Mangan Mediums (13-56) instead of light.  The sound and playability had improved a lot.  So, I decided to give her some "cheap bling"....
