Title: Thank You Dave At Guitar Adoptions
Post by: drdan on December 17, 2004, 01:58:02 PM
I want to use this forum to publically thank Dave for amazing customer service, the best deal ever, and the best guitar I have ever played.  My D-60 slotted headstock just arrived a couple days ago and I can't put it down.  I haved done strumming, flat picking, finger picking both solo and in a group setting with mandolin and bass and another guitar.  All I can say is wow.  This guitar sparkles.  It really shines when doing Pedmont style finger picking, which is a suprise to me.  It has the clarity, ring and bite that I associate Rev. Gary Davis who I think played a Gibson J-200.   Only problem is that next to the D-60, my buddies Takamine sounds  - well - not so good.
For now the D-60 still sounds a bit to mettalic to me but I will bet that this is just the effect of new strings.  Any advise on the best strings to use on this axe will be apreciated.  Mabe something that will lessen the bite a little and mellow out the sound.

Congrats on the new D60.
Try some medium Elixer nanos. I put some on tonight and am amazed at the dramatic improvement in sound and volume. :D

Yep..Brad...I certainly agree with you.  Even had the pleasure to visit Dave's place outside Chicago to pick out my
OO-05..that was FUN!   He didn't let me see his "inventory room" but just disappeared to bring in alternatives for me to play..had a great time, got a super Larry at a price I was very happy with.  {Happy Holidays Dave advertisement mode off!}

Would love to make another trip someday..but am afraid any time soon after 3 guitars, an amp and 2 pickups this year, would incurr severe rath on the homefront!
