I emailed Larrivee the serial number of my OM-03 last Friday to see when it was made. No response so far. The website said 24-48 hrs. It's not a big deal, just wondering if they always respond or should I send another email in a week or so if I don't hear anything?

while you are awaiting a response from Larrivee you might want to visit this site: http://toonz.ca/bose/wiki/index.php?title=Larriv%C3%A9e_Serial_Numbers
Forum member ST was thoughtful enough to create this serial number dating chart which will enable you to establish a close estimate of when your guitar was built. compare your serial number to the others and see where it falls. When you find out a definite date from Larrivee you can enter your own info.into the chart to further the cause. :thumb

We dont have any more pending serial number requests so either we never received the e-mail (Our server blocked it) or we responded and your server did not accept our E-mail. If you can send your message again and include the word "guitar" in the message body. Its a white list word and should ensure the e-mail gets through. Mike is usually turning these requests around within 24 hours (once a day in the morning). If you still dont receive a response by monday, report back here and we'll get you fixed up.
And there you go :thumb
Good job Matthew :+1:

Thanks. I am out of town now for TG and won't be back until next Monday. All I remember was the number was in the 80000 range which would peg it as a 2005 from the chart referenced by one of the other responses to my post. I was also wondering whether it was mahogany or sapele. Will you be able to tell that from the serial number?

An '05 OM-03 would almost certainly be mahogany
....in my experience they don't always respond.
I heard back from them within a couple of days.
in the subject line of your email put.... 'obtain a manufacturing date'
then provide with name, email, model and Serial #
they should respond

You should always receive a response. My staff is instructed to repond even if it is just to say "I dont have an answer for you yet, but i'm working on it".
I will admit it wasn't always this way, but it is now. If you send a request and havent heard back dont hesitate to re-send it or, or to pickup the phone and call.

Every person, or organization, hits rough spots in the road. What counts is recognizing the need to improve SOP practices while striving to respond to customer's needs. Thank you for the effort, Matthew.
Matthew - The fact you are watching the boards and take the time to respond tells me something and it's appreciated. I'll probably be re-sending my simple request before too long and will advise.

I resent my original email today. The email subject is "obtain a manufacturing date" and the email reads "I just purchased a used OM-03 and would like to know when it was made. The S/N is 80967. Also, is the body mahogany or sapele?"
Please respond here if you receive it and send a response. Thank you.

Did you include the word "guitar" in your message like Matthew said?
On three seperate occaisons I sent an e-mail to Larrivee and asked for a serial number/build date - one from the 1980's. In all three cases Mike Kitchen responded within 24 hrs. In the case of a 2010 RS-2 I purchased recently he provided me with the exact date of manufacture in real time. Ridiculously good service from Larrivee. Follow the instructions closely to avoid spam filters and I think you will get any and all information available.

Just got the response confirming the 2005 vintage and mahogany body.

Great, nice quick turnaround.
I emailed Larrivee last week with a question and had a response back within a couple of days. Same thing last year when I emailed them with a serial number information request...they got back to me within a couple of days with an answer to my questions. :donut :donut :donut :donut
