When logging in, I would like to see a change to the site so that when the return button is pressed after typing the password, it actually logs the user in.
I swear the site used to operate this way.
Now, when hitting the return button after typing the last character of the password, instead of registering the password, the site interprets that one wants to look at the Guitar of the Month photo. The user now has to grab the mouse, and click on the login button after typing the last character of the password.

You're right, didn't think of that.
This issue seemed to disappear for awhile, now it's back - non cookie enabled browsers don't like the return button - just goes right to GOTM picture and doesn't log in user.
Any help on this?

Hello? Is this thing on? Same issue persists. Logging in using the return button after typing the password goes to GOTM picture.
I guess I'm the only user that ever logs out. I don't see any other posts on this issue. I am really tired of having to log in two times for every time I visit the site. The first log in takes one to the GOTM image. Then you have to hit the browser back arrow and log in again. Then it takes and actually logs in.

What computer OS are you using?
Which browser are you using, and have you tried alternate browsers?
I have on occasion had this happen, as the cookie is set, and it prompts to save the password. I am generally using Win7 on a PC. It happened in Firefox. Did not happen to me using IE. I have had it happen in Chrome. Then, as you say I have to <alt>+<left arrow> or "previous page" to log in again.
Again, as you suggest, I usually stay logged in.
This happens for me on one of my computers. Just one. Every other PC works fine. Using firefox on Win XP home. It logs in but it goes to the POM...I just hit escape and click on the page i want to visit. Its weird...(yes it just happened when I logged on this time to write this message.)

I'm not that trusting...I don't stay logged onto any web sites...I log out when I'm done...
This happens all the time to me as well, except that it actually does log me in - I just have to hit reload. I am cookie enabled, but "session-only". Affects both at home and work computers. Both Windows 7, one Firefox, one Seamonkey.
I believe that your browsers are halting on a prompt as to whether to save your password or not.
At least that seems to be the case when it happens to me.
If you don't like the mouse, hit backspace then F5, and you will be logged in
Does it on safari on the iPhone too.

Happens primarily when I'm not at my home PC, where I stay logged in. Firefox is the usual culprit on XP. For me, it always goes to GOTM, then I have to hit the back button on the browser and login again.
I participate on a few other music forum websites and do not have this issue on those sites. Seems unique (to me) with this forum.

Looks like the problem is back with the new GOTM. Hasn't happened in a while, but did it again today.

Bingo! I'm not the only one!
Another thing I am noticing is that the GOTM picture now appears on the forum home page only if you are logged in. When this problem wasn't happening, it would always be shown. Sounds related, but I'm not sure.
