....and a current one for sale at Elderly Instruments at http://elderly.com/new_instruments/items/03LE.htm
I bought this one earlier in the year from a fellow forumite to evaluate for my never-ending quest for the perfect fingerstyle instrument. Finding that the 1.75" standard Larrivee spacing is just fine for me (who knew???). LOVING the overtones in this one, though! :guitar
I've added a JJB Electronics Artist Series Piezo Pickup, Ebony tuner buttons and Ebony/Abalone bridge pins, and a large John Pearse armrest in rosewood to match the headstock overlay. Bob Colossi vintage bone saddle and nut round out the additions. I will include receipts for over $260 of these improvements... The guitar is in excellent condition - no known issues at all.
It has been set very low for me for fingerstyle playing, and I've had the frets leveled (whoever sent it out from the factory didn't finish the leveling job, apparently).
Includes an arch-top premium Larrivee hard case. :nice guitar:

So how does the armrest work exactly? Can it be removed and reapplied at will or is it on permanently?

The John Pearse armrests are held on by double-sided tape. It's a secure hold along the very edge of the guitar, but I've easily removed them and put them on different guitars by simply prying up the tape with the rest. Their website explains the principle and removal ease....No marks or adhesive left behind, and it only attached on the edge of the guitar where it is braced/supported underneath anyway.
On smaller bodied guitars the armrest REALLY helps in keeping your arm from damping the vibration of the top. This results in better sound and you can feel the vibration of the back of the guitar increase, as well as hear a difference in the sound output. I like 'em and have them on all my guitars with the exception of my Martin D12-28.....nothing much you do will damp that monster!
This Spring and Summer I owned a Martin 000-15SM - all mahogany slothead (I see Martin is manufacturing them again!), and this Larrivee has it all over it in sound, balance and volume. Both 12 fretters, but worlds apart! The Martin offered simple, woody sound with a bit of bass...the Larrivee 000-03 is deeper in body size and with the larger soundhole, generates lots of nice overtones.... :nice guitar:
