My favorite guitar shop & Larrivee dealer is rolling up the carpet. Klem of Cathedral Music is retiring (rather than being forced out of business, fortunately) and he indicates that he's selling everything essentially at cost.
No affiliation, but he has a number of really fine Larrivees as well as Lowden, McPherson, Webber, White, Lakewood, Batson, Breedlove and others. Have to call to get the closeout price. Great deals while they last.
His inventory page is here: Cathedral Music (http://www.cathedralmusic.com/17501.html)
I bought a number of really great guitars from Klem over the years, including my first 'good' guitar, an OM-03

I got my new Larrivee at Cathedral last week. Klem's store is my favorite guitar shop ever and I'm really sorry to see it and Klem go.
That is surely a loss to the community. Could see myself spending some quality time at that shop. I know will be missed by many!!!
I wanted the rocking dog.
Not for sale. :crying:
Love the J200 burst listed on their site. That's one of the guitars on my "someday" list.
They have a very nice price on the #40 40th anniv JCL, wish I could afford it. Don't see too many of these, especially new.
I was just coming here to post about it......I just bought an L-03RE from him for a "travel" guitar. I wish I could allow myself to buy that Webber Millenium guitar, but I'm being a "good boy" so to speak :thumb

Cathedral is the most enjoyable guitr shop visit I've ever had. Excellent inventory, comfortable atmosphere, and Klem is one classy guy. Best to you Klem!

Someone should snap up those Cole Clark Fat lady (ladies?). I was playing the FL1 in the shop the other day and it sounded wonderful. Also bunya is just a cool looking wood and it has a great sound to it, very forthright and forward and they are loud like Klem says. If I had more cash to spare I'd have taken one myself.

Dave,
Appreciate the info. Sounds like it may be the place to replace my 93" DO-3 which met an untimely death. Especially after owning it from new and over the years it's sound was near perfection. I have been away from Larrivee for a number of years playing Gibson's and mainly a Taylor 314CE-L7. Nice guitar but the sound of my DO-3 was comparable if not better. I am looking at putting Larrivee back into my stable and am wondering if you could give me some direction as to going for a DO-3RE or the LO-3RE. From what I am researching, it sounds like the DO-3 may have a cleaner tone quality. Any advise would be appreciated.

Was thinking the same thing....
Klem finally closed his shop on Friday but I know he still has a few guitars left that he'll sell mail order listed on his website if anyone is interested.
Having been in retail at one point in my life this comment struck a nerve: "Cathedral Music WAS the home of the world's finest hancrafted acoustic guitars." The small, hometown retailer is almost a thing of the past and I, for one, am sorry to see them become a relic of a "kinder and gentler" America.
Good luck, Klem. I'm following you soon.
