I read on the website for Morgan guitars that part of cleaning your guitar involves cleaning the fret board with steel wool to get rid of dirt and polish it. Morgan guitars' fretboards have a glossy finish to them, but my larrivee's fretboard has no finish on it. Is it still a good idea to use steel wool?

On the gloss guitars out of California we do use Double Boiled Linseed oil on the fretboard. You definetly can clean your fretboard with steel wool. Just make sure to use OOOO steel wool. A quick pass in line with the neck will work wonders. Get a big wad of it, and vigorously rub for about 15 to 20 seconds. it should take much more than that. If you really like your frets polished for bends then follow it up with 4000, 6000, 8000, and 12000 grit micromesh pads. A few seconds with those and you've got nice shiny frets.
