Post by: erivel on July 03, 2011, 03:58:37 AM
Sold off forum

You can read about this guitar when I received it earlier this year:

Up for sale is my Martin D-28P with Performing Artist neck.  It was made in late 2010 in time for the Winter NAMM show in January of 2011 where it was the display model.  According to Martin it was the 6th D-28P made.

Specs are:  Solid Sitka Spruce top, Solid Rosewood back/sides, Solid one piece Mahogany neck (no wings), Chrome Grover Rotomatic tuners.  Ebony fingerboard and bridge.  1 3/4 inch bone nut and 2 3/16 inch spacing at the saddle, which is also bone.  The neck is the new slim tapered Performing Artist neck.  It's the most comfortable neck I've ever played on a Martin IMHO.

It includes new pickguard made of Collings material, bone bridgepins by Bryan England, and a Fishman Matrix Natural II pickup.  Has faint pick scratches and a small blemish on the top treble bout side on the finish (hard to see in photograph).  Includes a molded Martin 640 thermoplastic case and placard from the NAMM show.

This is a fantastic guitar that's stage ready.  I'm only selling to finance a custom build, so not interested in trades at this time.

Here's a link to the actual guitar when it was at NAMM:

VERY nice looking guitar.  I understand that the P models have shallower necks, much like Taylors.  It must sound wonderful.  Good luck on the sale.

Thanks!  The neck does feel Taylor-like to me, very comfortable.

Looks like a great guitar.  Too bad the video doesn't include someone actually playing it.
