Title: Fishman Ellipse Vt w/ UST: add JJB 2 module or a PUTW Quackbuster?
Post by: Dannyg1 on June 11, 2011, 04:53:36 PM
The Ellipse VT is a single lead preamp and I'm very unhappy with the UST alone sound presentation, it sounds compressed, lacking in focus and with too little dynamic range. It ends up sounding very unlike the guitar it's mounted to and sounds a bit 'fake' as well.

I have both the Quackbuster and a JJB 2 element that I can mount. Anyone have a strong preference?

I don't have a preference, but I have the JJB waiting to be added to a UST also.  You will have to blend those two sources externally which might be a consideration.  Isn't the quack buster added to the same signal as the UST and not blended, or am I mistaken about that?
