Title: Larrivee LS-02 value
Post by: Daviscon on May 11, 2011, 05:12:07 PM
Hey guys
Around a year ago, I was given a 1990 Larrivee LS-02 electric guitar. I don't know an awful lot about guitars so all i know is it was made in August 1990 in Vancouver and it has a Floyd Rose tremelo. I know its not really much information, but is there any chance somebody with a greater knowledge of these guitars suggest a value for it? If you need any more information just say and i'll try my best to find an answer

Hello Alex DAVIS age 15

Would luv pics to show condition such as paint chips wear etc and also to  over

Having said that the Larrivee Electrics of that era often referred to as 80`s era were simply great guitars, good enough for bands such as Bryan ADAMS, BTO Trooper etc ( U might need to google these guys).

BUT

They are tremendously undervalued in todays market - I would suggest $500 to $750 give or take a $100. Your guitar a 1990 model was near the end of their run and it`s been said by Larrivee that their later models were of better quality than their early ( 1983 1984 etc) models tho I have not seen any evidence of this - they were all made exceptionally well!!!!

Guess I should emphasize that your guitar is worth a lot more to a player than you can get by selling it. To match that guitar today you would easily be knocking on $3000 door, sooo if you play keep it and play the snot out of it, your buddies with a MIM Fender couldn`t come close to it!!!! Other than a more recognizable name on the headstock

Do you still have that '84 LS4? I'd love to see some better pics of it. But I suspect that was a scan of an old pic because you don't have it anymore.  :crying:

Too bad!   :nice guitar:

Wow. That's NICE...and I love that "modern strat" body shape - even more than the Parker Fly modern strat shape...very cool!

I think Larrivee needs to "reissue" this one!

Friends they are out there and I would suggest the best value in the Vintage Guitar market today, playability is superb along with the Craftmanship we expect from Larrivee and the Hardware is topshelf. It doesn't have Gibson or Made in USA Fender on the headstock soooo they are a steal for anyone who wants a suberbly kickass electric guitar.
