Title: I am new here :)
Post by: Yusuf_Mohammed on April 30, 2011, 02:20:30 PM
i am new here on your forum, and i don't know any thing about the guitars. When i was young, i played only on the piano.
And i wanted to play on the drums, but my teacher told me that i was too young and then i left my school.
So i want to know what is the difference between the piano and the guitar in its playing?
is the playing on the guitar is difficult?

And i want to know more about your forum

Thanks :)

welcome Yusuf,

Primarily this forum is for guitar players who play or are considering playing Larrivee brand guitars.

Here is one web site that explains how a guitar works and a some about learning to play.   http://www.start-playing-guitar.com/

I'm not a piano player, but just as a piano is played using notes and chords, so is a guitar. Learning the hand and finger positions of some basic chords is where one usually starts. And the strings used for a chord will be strummed. Find a simple song or melody you like, and find the chords to be played for that song.

The easy chords to learn first are E, D, G, C, A  Many songs can be played with those chords.

A good way to learn is to have a friend who already knows the basics of playing guitar, and will show you how to play a simple song.

There are also some how to play videos on YouTube that may be useful to you.

Good luck.  Let us know how you progress.

Hello Yusuf. I think guitar is very hard to learn.
