Title: "It's so loud that...
Post by: dermot on August 07, 2010, 12:43:47 AM
"It's so loud that i can hear you play when i was all the way over there" she said pointing to the far side to the 2,000 car parking lot at the Langdale Ferry Terminal...

Last night we just missed the 7:40 ferry back to Vancouver, and the next one was at 9:40.. what to do?
Eva went for a walk, and i pulled my OM out of the case and started in on some DADGAD stuff...
When she got back she said it was unbelievably loud... and she took this piccie of me & the OM19 at twilight on a soft summer evening, killing time at the ferry terminal, and apparently entertaining allot of folks inadvertently;

Making music adds so much to one's life ;-)

Yo d!
(no, not Yo da)

Every time I think of that Calton case I regret not buying it.

Nice shirt!

It's been too long buddy.  But I'll be on the North Shore tomorrow for that open stage event down on 15th. (3-6 pm).

Bring anything with a pickup and join us!

You two look like a perfect match.  "some DADGAD stuff," what in particular?  Love the photo.

Oh man! yes i will.... Finlay i can make it.. i am thinking i will get next weekend off... if I've been a good boy....

Ryler.. i was playing Larry Pattis's "Waltzing Matilda", my own arrangements of Heartbreak Hotel & Smoke on the Water, Londonderry Air, EL Mcmeen's Star Three Ways" and O'Carolan's "Separation of Soul & Body"... the OM feels great to play.. light and responsive, all over sweetness....

Hayden; yea it's a Golden Gate Heavy.... that + fresh acrylic nails + new set of Med's = Loud apparently ;-)

Bright Red & pink Calton... i got it second hand so no pick of color's, but it was a rarity as it was ordered to custom fit a Larrivee OM19... and it fit's my OM19 like a glove...

Hey Duck! I'll tell miss Eva the photographer.... very kind words - esp given the non-photogenic subject ;-)

And it misses both of you! If you were just here i could have shared our westcoast dinner tonight... Cedar Plank Salmon / Lemon sauce/ grilled zucchini / lightly steamed asparagus;
(http://www.voguehost.com/ims/u/dermot/more%20guitars/Salmon%20dinner.jpg)

Stop by sometime (And Ricky I think you played this OM once!)

And i looked at the piccie and saw my left wrist bent in an unhealthy way... i almost stopped playing it was so bad, and did physio for a few months to get back.. all because i often play with my thumb in the back of the neck - classical training damage - but i don't hold the guitar over my left leg with the neck up... meaning my wrist gets really bent... think i would have learned by now... sheeesh....

I always pull my guitar out in the airport lounge to kill time. My children always move well away and pretend the don't know me. :laughin:

Ever play stuff in open D? DADF#AD? sounds awesome on a larrivee. Andrew White on candyrat records uses this on a lot of his recordings.

It looks like the service Dermot used to host the picture is having difficulty. I can't see it either.

Too bad, it was a nice picture.
