Hi Fran, hey I was listening to your CD "Kaleponi" tonight. Beautiful, beautiful, playing there, man. I especially like "Grandfather's Clock" - that is something special. But they are all fantastic. Your tone is to die for. I sound like I'm wearing steel-toed gloves in comparison.
Do you play your EF-500M on any of those tracks?
David
Gee, David, thanks for the shout out.
No, I didn't own the EF-500M when those tracks were cut. I used a Wingert Model E, a Martin OM-18GE, and a Kim Walker OM for those recordings.
I'm getting itchy to do my next one, but the Epi probably won't be on that either, because it lives in Hawai`i. I only see that guitar when I'm visiting over there.
Fran
Well, I wondered. I thought the Epi sounded really good on your videos, but the guitars on your CD are flat out gorgeous. Tone, tone tone.

Honestly, a lot of the sound of that CD is due to the efforts of the mastering engineer, Bill Wolf, and the mixing engineer, Doug Young. I had a couple of other guys try both jobs, and I took a shot at mixing myself, but Doug gave the tracks just what they needed and Bill put the icing on.
Still, I really appreciate the kind comments.
Fran
