Title: My new Larrivee 00-03
Post by: jrporter on March 09, 2010, 06:16:46 PM
I recently pulled the plug on this Larrivee 00-03 and am very impressed with its understated quality, great tone, and playability. I'm a fingerstyle guitar player and wanted to learn ragtime guitar. Looks like this 00-03 will be just the ticket.  :nana_guitar :nana_guitar :nanadance (http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w251/jrp1950/My%20Guitars/IMG_1747.jpg)  (http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w251/jrp1950/My%20Guitars/IMG_1749.jpg)

Great looking guitar!  My last two have been an 03 Larrivee in parlor size, and a 00 from another company.  I've been thinking a 00-03 might be the best of everything?  Congratulations!

I'd really like to do a pickguard-ectomy. Any thoughts????

Uh...yeah!  All my guitars get that done within the first 2-3 hours.

Great choice.  I'm a huge fan of this size.  My OO came with a clear pickguard and I like that look on this size better than the tortoise look, so I say go for the -ectomy.  Good to see you here at the Larrivee forum.

Very nice, I like it without the PG myself.

Without or with a Clear Guard IMHO The longer you delay the operation the greater probability of dealing with a tan line.

I really like the pickguards on my Larrivee guitars.  Perhaps this is because my nylon string guitars don't have pickguards

Or possibly you are a latecomer to Larrivees?  Three of my Larrivee's were built before they switched to the Martin style guard, so when they switched the new look was pretty different.

Pretty sure that would sound pretty awesome on a 00-03...or an 00-03MT!

Is that your stage name?  Frosty Morn?

That's not me on YouTube; I just wanted to share the tune with others...
