Hi I hope Iam at the right spot to ask a question about my L'Arrivée D-09. It has got a plain headstock and it's number is 09 10790. I want to knew what year it was made and how much the retailprice was back then. Mine was wonderful,standard Larrivee string balance,good volumn and tone.Only reason I don't still have it is I needed money at the time more then a guitar.If you can find one grab it you won't be disappointed.Great for all styles of play.Sounded wonderful in alt. tunings.I miss it but its good hands. :crying:

And what good are donuts without the coffee.... :coffee :coffee :coffee :coffee :coffee :coffee :coffee :coffee :coffee :coffee :coffee :coffee...I hope that's enough, if not I'll have to go for another run.
I have a LV-05 that I had a 2" fretboard added by Larrivee when it was made. My previous Larrivee was also mohogany with a satin finish, but the neck was too narrow for my mitts, thus I went bigger. I prefer the glossy finish so much that I even had them do the fretboard too. Unfortunately, they shipped with a satin finish, but took it back and delivered it again the way it was ordered. I love the tone and the balance from bass to treble on the LV-05. I've been trying to get the fingers picking, but it's been hard to find practice time with two small children.
I've been reading this forum for many years and love pouring over all the threads and have learned a lot here.

Larrivee put a classical guitar neck on it. When I took it to the 12th Fret a while back for some servicing (where I ordered it from), one of the techs commented on how purty she is. I want to give them a plug because Dave Wren there was great through the whole process and helped me sell my previous Larrivee for a nice price. My ONLY regret buying the new one was not having electronics put on when it was built. I know I can add it on after the fact, but I would feel safer to have Larrivee do it.
I will try to get a picture of the LV-05 and post it.

$1500. The problem with vintage Larrivee guitars is, they are spectacular guitars BUT so are the newer ones. You might squeeze $1600 but it'll be tough goin to get much more. Just MHO.

Now that you have had your morning joe and doggy nuts, I just thought I would say HI! I have only been okaying for a couple of years and am ready to move on from my beginners special (Still crazy grateful that my wife got it for me to get me started). I have a Birthday coming up and was told that I could treat myself to an instrument as opposed to a started guitar and not end up sleeping on the couch for the next year. I posted a few threads asking for advice and I am planning on spending some time on here to learn a few things. I am drawn to the Larrivee based on the sound clips and disucssion forums, so I am kind of sold on the idea of owning my very own, just not sure which one to purchase just yet!

I am the very , very happy owner of a Forum I, OM-03, all mahogany. I'm still a newbie myself, but compared to anything else I've played (my 'office' Seagull, wife's old Alvarez classical, and done the Guitar Center "just looking" days) - this is hands-down the best I! Size is perfect, tone is fantastic, and well, it's just gorgeous!
A special note - I've a bum shoulder myself - the smaller size is really comfortable!

I owned and wish I still did an OM03/12 Great guitar.I have owned a D12-20 and it also was a great guitar.I have also owned dreads,jumbo's and "L" body 12 strings all wonderful guitars.If I had the money I'd love to own a 12 fret 12 string my main choice's being an OM or an L.As for volumn for me its not all that important but tone including overtone's are what make me buy a 12 string.Right now I'm using a Seagul S12 which is a dread with a cedar top nice guitar not a bad guitar.

Welcome dream deferred. glad to have you here. However, I should point out that you've made the same mistake other newcomers have made. I refer you to post #1 in this thread.
The topic is Larrivee Forum Guitars. Forum Guitars are special runs of particular models which have been spearheaded by members of the forum and the Larrivee family has been kind enough to build for us. There have been 5 different versions thus far. Forum I and II were 12 fret OM style with a couple of special features. Forum III was a 12 fret LS-03, also with a few little extra features. Forum IV was a special OO body. Forum V was an electric as I recall. This thread is for discussion of those specific guitars.
Since you are new perhaps you might be interested in how these came to be and the story behind them. Again, I refer you to Post #1 and the link provided there.
The proper place to introduce yourself on the forum is with a new thread for that purpose. I think you'd get more "welcomes" if you did that.

My Dad just sent me a 1983 Larrivee electric with 2 singles and a humbucker emg's with a kahler bridge. I was wondering if it could be one of the original production guitars and if there is a serial number I can find on it somewhere to be sure?? I don't know how to post pictures, but it looks identical to the picture on the Larrivee history information page. The blue Larrivee guitar leaning on the Mercedes next to a picture of a bass guitar. How do you know its a 1983 :? Your Dad bought it that year :?
If a 1983 it would be a 1st production year model
The serial # most likely if not on back of headstock will be on the last fret of the fingerboard sometimes hard to see.

There is NOT a Forum Guitar in the works currently. Forum I, II, III, IV and V are available as used guitars from time to time but there are no new ones being built; or even contemplated at the moment.

I stand corrected. But I think it's fair to say that any plans for a Forum VI are still a long way off at this point. It might be hard to garner enough support for a 12 string Forum Guitar although I'm sure an OM-3R 12er would be nice. Walnut and Cedar would certainly be a departure from any previous version of Forum Guitar
