Title: Nuts and string heights
Post by: dmcginnis on December 05, 2009, 03:50:10 PM
I remember a recent thread that had some good photos of strings passing through the nut slots that showed what the heights should be...but cannot find those photos dor that thread.  Can anyone point me to that thread?  I just changed to medium gauge strings and the lower strings seem to sit a bit high in the nut....

Thanks,
Dave

Thats because there larger the the lite's and may not be seated correctly in the nut slot.Open the slot a little and that should solve the problem.

Sorry can't help you find the thread.

Here is a good article on how to determine if your nut slots are set up correctly for your guitar.
Exact measurements are different for differnt guitars, and this method is easier and IMHO more accurate.

hope this helps.
