*****SOLD******
After getting my hogtop F3 I've decided to let go my first forum issue OM-03. For those not familiar with the first Larrivee forum guitar...this is a 12 fret OM. I believe this is the guitar that started the 12 fret frenzy on this forum. This guitar is a mahogany/spruce Om with a 12 fret neck. Larrivee included a mother of pearl inlaid logo and abalone rosette on this issue.
Since I've had it I installed a Greven pickguard and a John Pearse Armrest. The guitar has been buffed to a semi-gloss finish and is in wonderful condition. As I looked it over today I did not see any pick marks or dings. The top has developed a beautiful golden glow in the spruce. A strap button has also been added. It comes in the original hardshell Larrivee case. This guitar is #7 0f 17 for this run.
I offer this guitar shipped to mainland US for $SOLD. I will consider sales to other location but shipping will be added. E-mail for additional questions.

Oh be still my flittering heart. :nice guitar:
C'mon lotto, pick me. Oh yeah, that would require me to buy a ticket. :humour:

Oh - that's just beautiful.
A rare and exceptionally beautiful offering - I've really wanted to try one of these sitka topped F1s. Hope your sure about this one, its gonna be real hard to replace -
Tad
Someone should really snap this up. As the label says, the first run of Larrivee Forum guitars only produced 17 of these extraodinary guitars.
I have an all mahogany #9 of the 17 and I keep looking for something that has better tone, but have not been able to find it in a couple years of trading. There is something about the Larrivee OM with a 12 fret configuration that makes for a really big sounding OM. These don't come up for sale too often.
Good luck on your sale DOT, but I fear you will be back looking for a Forum I replacement, before too long.
Gary
It needs to be a lefty!!!! :crying: Good luck with the sale though. Someone is getting a beautiful instrument.
I am interested can you email me at james@apollocounseling.org

7 should be my LUCKY number, or is it that 12 is my lucky number?
:nice guitar:

Aw man, if I was not in the middle of buying a house right now (and thus trying desperately to NOT spend money)...
*sigh*
Do you think that the Greven pickguard and John Pearse Armrest can be safely removed? (Just wondering...)

A couple people have asked this question. i read a long post on the AGF about removing the Pearse armrests writen by Wade Hampton Miller (a Pearse endorser) and he said he has never had a problem removing an armrest. I think the pickguard could be removed too. I have toyed with the idea of taking them off but I'd rather leave them in case the guitar doesn't sell and I keep it.
I have one of the JP armrests on my Guild and love it. Your armrest is a smaller size, and looks really good on that guitar IMHO. (I'm also in the clear or no pickgurad camp though)
A lovely looking guitar.. Best of luck with the sale.

Gary, really nice guitar. If it was one of the all Hog ones, I'd be right on it. Good luck. You shouldn't have any problem @ that price, esp. with the extras? :thumbsup
Jeff
You are killing me. :crying:

I mean...thank goodness it's NOT a lefty! :rolleye:
It is a sweet guitar. Could you measure the depth at the end pin and what the lower bout, waist and upper bout are?
(I would really like to know)
Thank you

Stand Larrivee specs...body depth is 4.25,
Upper Bout is 11 1/2", Waist is 9 1/2", Lower Bout 15 1/4"
Thanks for that, I never had known what the Forum OM's were. I was hoping for the original Larrivee OM specs. 4'' max. depth etc.
For what it's worth, I just measured my 2002 OM-03 and those are the exact measurements I get. Now...if you were just offering a discount to unemployed folks... :whistling: :humour:
A lesson for all of us! -03s don't have to be... blingless? Love the rosette and the other post-mfg touches. Beautiful guitar.

Nope. Apart from the 12-fret neck, silver logo and rosette the OM-03 and OM-03MT (Forum & Forum II) guitars were strictly stock at 4.25" deep at the tail block. Jason Brantley from Notable Guitars brokered both runs and IIRC the intent was to keep the price reasonable, just as with the LS-03 and LS-03MT Forum 3's. I don't know if it's Larrivée's decision or if it was Jason's decision, but basically the same rules seemed to apply then and they're applying to the upcoming 00-03MT Forum 4: only one option allowed.

Since I started the F-IV and helped start the F-III and with Tad's helped pushed for the original specs.(which are 4'' max. depth etc.) I'm aware of Larri sizes more now and I was hoping that some of the OM's might be made to original specs. I think I'm going to have to try for a OM-lite.
As I age the size I can play is limited to smaller lower bouts or thinner depth or a tight waist. (heh that's sounding like my little wife) Must be a subliminal deal :whistling:
For Clarity, for both the original 17 Forum OM-03 12 fret's and the Forum II's there were two choices, Spruce top or Mahogany top, both over Mahogany B/S. The Forum II run was a repeat of the original Forums due to popularity and demand for more of them.
The headstock inlay "Larrivée" is Mother of Pearl and the rosette is abalone. No silver headstock trim.
Love the one I have. Like the 12 fret F-III they have some extra Umph at the low end.....sweeeet. :thumbsup
Good luck with your sale... Someone is going to get a great guitar for a bargin price. :beer

Dental floss takes arm rests off nicely. Naptha removes excess adhesive if there's much left. Pickguards come off with a little heat: they peel off and most are pretty much shot by the time they're off.
THAT sure is a lovely guitar!
Dot-sent you a PM. I'll take it, please! :+1:
I've played this one and have heard Gary play it. It's in great condition but words can't even describe how good it sounds. I wish I could get it!
