Title: I Can't Stand How
Post by: l31itz on November 11, 2003, 12:06:55 PM
I just put some D'Addario Phosphor Bronze strings on last week. It took like four days for them to settle down and stop sounding so metallic, tinny and bright.

So four days to settle down. They last about 10 days. Then they go dead and you have to change them again.

I think it's time for extended play strings.

Or should I try 80/20 to not get that initial metallic, tinny and bright sound?

BTW: Once the strings settle down and stay in tune correctly. MAN... such a beautiful sounding guitar; especially when fingerpicked.

John Pearse Strings! They're the best (IMHO). Sound incredible from the first strum. I like all of them, especially the 2810LM's. But the Phosphor/Bronze and 80/20's are also great! I get mine at www.elderly.com   The 2810LM's last a long long time! They're all silver -cool looking!

Give Pyramids a try. They're great strings and they last a very long time, which is good because they're twice the money. Worth every penny in my opinion. You can find them online if you can't get them locally.
