Title: Nominations for April's GOTM are closed
Post by: Randy_R on March 02, 2009, 10:16:15 AM
Use this thread to nominate your choice for April GOTM. Post the picture in this thread.

Four nominations will be selected for a VOTE by members according to the following rules:

rules 1-3 deleted

4. If a members picture has been GOTM previously it can not be GOTM again

5. If a member has had a GOTM in the last 3 months, another picture from that member can't be nominated again.

6. Nominations must be of Larrivee made instruments (guitars, mandos, etc)

7. nominations will be in a sticky thread in the Pictures section started by one of the mods each month. By the 20th of the month the mods will pick the top 4 (in their opinion) pictures and a Vote thread will be started (each month) so that members can pick the next GOTM from those 4 nominations. Zach will be asked to make that picture the following month's GOTM.

8. Nominations will be closed each month by a mod after 8 nominations have been received.

9. pictures must be able to be reposted in 800x600 resolution and retain their quality.

There are no nominations yet for April. I think any of those nominated last month that didn't win could be re-nominated.

Are the rules too overbearing? I was just trying to use reasonable suggestions that others had made in the previous GOTM discussion?

I will exploit your rule amendment, and nominate Holly (the guitar).

Randy, I cleaned up the box...

I think the rules are fine. I was just trying to help out DT in getting his pointy headed beast of a guitar in the running.

Randy, is there any particular reason why we can only nominate pictures from the pictures section?  Could it not be made manditory to post the picture with the nomination (as everyone did last month anyway), and then it could come from any thread in any section.  There have been some real nice pictures of guitars lately, but often posted in the Larrivee Guitars section, as people tend to make a written introduction to their latest purchaces in that way, rather than use the pictures section.

The pictures section seems to be highly underused recently is really the point I am making, and it is hindering the new GOTM process.  The GOTM nomination process is a great idea, and I would be dissapointed if it failed after a couple of months on a formality.

OK. rules relaxed. The only rules left are that it be a Larrivee and an individual can only have one of their instruments selected every 3 months. And that a picture of sufficiently good resolution be available for GOTM.

Your rules are fine, just getting the job done is great to see happening. Proving that we can have a properly functioning forum.  I'm glad to see this happening, it gives a nice touch to the forum to have a new Guitar every month on the home page. IMHO

No offence to Holly the guitar, (I voted for her last month) but we have to have more than one nomination.

Therefore I hereby nominate  musicrowscott's (http://www.larriveeforum.com/smf/index.php?topic=21771.0) D-10

since the one nomination per member rule has been removed, I also nominate STs stunning Brazillian RW Larry headstock with beautiful inlay.  I know there is a flash reflection on it, but it is still beautiful!

Hopefully some others will join in with more nominations

That OMV-60 was the April GOTM for 2008. So we still still need another

This seems only fair then, since Tuffys and Danny's are the only two Forum IIIs to be pictured in detail so far.
