A few have asked for photos of this guitar. This is one my daughter Megan and I have been building for three years. She moved away when it was only 1/3 complete. I finished it and gave it to her this morning for Christmas. Went over very well. Megan is one lucky girl - but I guess she's as special as any father's daughter :wink: - I've two of my own... I checked it out on your web-site - simply beautiful!!! I just love the simplicity - purfling and centre strip - also at the end instead of a wedge, grain matching at the end is perfect too. And that's a most beautiful top with the subtle bearclaw.
Is that tropical Mahogany? My daughter has a Walden from African Mahogany, and there is a definite resemblance.
What tuners did you use, and what bracing design, neck-joint?

Well I put new strings on my OM-21...and it looks like a cousin (a poor one) of your nice git.
A guitar made by your dad - that has got to be one of the best gifts to carry memories and emotions far into the future in her family. As time goes by and the guitar keeps sounding nicer, the memories will keep piling on and into it.

Thanks for posting photos of the guitar you finished for your daughter. Love the rosette and binding which really set it apart. Now I know where to go to get a mahogany OM bodied guitar with similar specs to match the rosewood Martin OM-35 you found for me last November.

That is one of the better books out there on guitar building. A bit hard to follow if you read it cover to cover. I would suggest that you read it about steelstring first skipping all the classical parts and then read it again skipping all the steel string pars. You will get a lot more out of it that way.

I was fortunate enough and Jim gave me the opportunity to play his daughter's guitar tonight at Trinity Guitars before he ships it to her. As good as it looks in a photo, you should hold it in your hands and hear how good it sounds even for an amateur like me. Tonight I am sure I will be dreaming of a guitar with mahogany back and sides.
