I have two very nice Taylor guitars (514ce & GA4) available for sale on page 2 in this  forum under: Taylor Guitars for Sale.  I first posted them a while back and got no response so I researched how much they were selling for on ebay, other forums and locally.  I've since brought my prices down to reflect the current economic situation.  The only responses on this forum have been from me.  I do realise that this is the LARRIVEE guitar forum, but find it difficult to understand the lack of interest here.  I've repeatedly tried to join the Acoustic Guitar Forum (I am ironically listed there as a member under Tonewould), but I have been unable to post a single letter there.  I've contacted their administration and get no response.  I'm starting to think that I am the target of a conspiracy here. :humour:  Being computerally impaired, I haven't posted photos since they'd need to be reduced in size and that's a bit beyond my scope at this point.  I am capable of emailing photos if requested.  There is a real security net factor about this forum that I  like in terms of dealing with established members.  It's a safe and comfortable environment.  I'm not here to beg folks to buy them, and I won't let them go for a pittance either.  I can be very patient, but I do admit to feeling a bit perplexed.  Are photos really that crucial.  I've assumed, perhaps foolishly, that most acoustic players would be somewhat familiar with these models being that Taylor really saturatets the market.  I am open to all suggestions.  Thanks in advance for your help.   :donut  :coffee :wave

Understand the frustration with AGF - took me a couple emails to the admin before they activated my account, but I haven't tried to post over there yet -

Pictures really are important - I had a Koa Parlor that I couldn't get a decent price here, put it on ebay, where it sold for just a little more than I was asking here, but the buyer was a dealer who took some incredible pics of it, put it straight back on eBay and got almost 400 more for it! :angry:

As far as the Taylors go - I couldn't tell you one from another, so I haven't a clue what you actually are selling.  If you can't do pics, very specific details ( measurements of body, nut, scale, etc ) and good descriptions of the materials involved couldn't hurt. But I can also say that the main reason I check this board frequently is for Larrivees, and only occasionally the AGF is because it is almost entirely Taylors -

I think that Windows has a picture editor built in - and there is pretty good info on sizing, reducing, and posting pics in the Forum FAQ, I learned a fair bit from it. It will help you get the pics online, but you still have to have some talent to take them - thats my problem -

Good LucK on the sale - don't take the lack of interest personally, it just seems that used instruments aren't getting the prices that people are hoping for - whether it is too many on the market, or just the economy, I don't know.

I agree that photos help to sell in interwebs ads. Also, you'd want to put them where people are buying Taylors...for instance...as you already mentioned...larrivees will get more attention here. And I would expect Taylors to get more attention than Larrivees in a Taylor forum (where ever that is.)

I've also noticed that people are leery to buy from someone who they are not familiar with.....so folks new to a forum will get less responses than someone who has posted on the forum for years....it just goes to the credibility of the seller.

I've looked at you post and think your prices are very good.  Pics do help.  My experience here and other forums is that people want a great deal, especially in this economy.  The seller has to decide how much money he is willing to loose.  Good luck!

I don't take the lack of interest personally, and do realize that the more I contribute to the forum, the more credibility I earn which is just as it should be.  I do understand the principle of supply and demand.  For a while there were quite a few Taylor 514ce's on ebay so that was to the buyers' advantage.  I wonder how much the uncertainty of the upcoming presidential election impacts how well used acoustic guitars will sell.  Someone has generously offered to post photos on my behalf.  I will email them to him/her tomorrow.I will also see about getting the specs for each model from the Taylor site.  This has all been excellent practicle advice and is much appreciated.  Thank you.

I've looked at your Taylors for Sale post and think your pricing is just fine. You need the pictures, and you need to be on AGF. You might also try to post on the Martin Forum.......those guys will buy some crazy stuff sometimes.

I can also resize your pics for you if your other offer falls through. Too bad your GA4 isn't a GC4......you might not have to resize that set of pics.

Hi Dave,
I've run into the same issue of picture size. If you google "windows image resizer", you'll find an easy download that'll take your large images down to medium size without any loss of resolution.

Firstly, good luck with the sale. Nothing wrong with your prices at all and pictures would definitely be a plus. :thumb

I've sold a lot of guitars over the years and have found that August and September are the absolute worst
months to sell a guitar.
Everybody's getting ready to go back to school and their money is being spent on computers, clothing, and books.
Not necessarily in that order...

I have not posted pic here but if it help have noticed that sellers over on the AGF have put pic on kijiji and linked them. I have read a lot about how post pics can be a pain. I have posted on Kijij and it is very easy.
