How do you deal with that!?!?!  I bet you'd have answered the door naked if you'd heard it too

The message is clear: It's better to sit by the door with a full bladder and the odor of a Yeti rather than miss your guitar.

My condolences.     Same thing nearly happened to me earlier this week.  I knew I would be workiing in my upstairs office for most of the day so I put a note on my front door  that said "FED EX;  Please knock loudly as I cannot hear the doorbell when I'm upstairs."  After 3 cups of coffee nature was calling in a big way.   Just as I was about to "get some relief"  I heard the faint sound of a truck pulling into my cul-de-sac.  I rushed downstairs just as the driver was taking the box out of the truck.  I opened the door and ran out to the curb to meet him;  signed for it, and rushed back in.  The driver commented that I must have really been anticipating his arrival since I was right there when he got out of the truck.  He didn't know that I was mere seconds away from an embarrassing accident.   In any event, everything came out alright (pun intended) and I didn't miss the delivery of my new 000-50.   Things like this give me nightmares.    Hope you get your hands on that P-09 this evening.  It'll be worth the wait.

And NOW I just have to say that the folks at FEDEX  need to get in touch with reality.
Guitom sent the package FEDEX Home Delivery and we weren't home to sign for it.
Soooo, Sue calls Fedex to arrange to have it taken off of the truck (yesterday) for me to pick it up today.

I go to the FEDEX depot after work today (at 4:00 PM) to pick up the package...

The counter lady saya "Oh, that's a 'Home Delivery' package...you have to go to the 'Home Delivery' depot to pick that up.
(WHY couldn't they have told my wife that when she talked to them yesterday???)

They give me directions to the 'Home Delivery' depot and guess what?  THEY CLOSE AT 3:00 PM (they told my wife they're open till 6:00 PM
and they told me to go there at 4:00 PM)

How upset do you think I am right now?
And,...they can't deliver till Saturday now...

Sounds like a perfect reason to justify MURDER!!!  I know if I sat on a jury and heard your testimony, there would be no way you could be found guilty!!!  Free just like O.J. !!!!  :humour:

My heart felt condolences, I really know how you feel!!!  Just think how much more you are going to appreciate that new guitar once you finally get your hands on it! And I believe Tom Petty sang "The Waiting is the Hardest Part".... just can't help myself from humming that tune now!!    :guitar

I was in the same boat. I was at work, awaiting word from wifey that my D-03R had arrived. She ran out, postman left us a note. I took a couple of personal hours today to fetch her (the guitar, of course!) and become aquainted with my new friend.

Gotta run...........I got strings to change, and fingerboard hygene rituals to perform!

Chapter two:

My wife got out of work early today and called 'Fedex Home Delivery" and asked if she could pick up the guitar at 2:30.
The voice on the other end of the line said "Just a moment, I'll check."

The reply?
"Yes, you can pick it up any time between 8:00 and 1:00."

So wife says "Hello!!??....what part about 2:30 did you not understand!?" At this point she swears that the
voice definitely sounded disembodied. So she just told them to deliver on Saturday.

She happened to be near the depot at 2:15 and was indeed able to pick up the box. That's a whole 'nother story
just as sad as the rest. You have to hear her version...I just can't do it justice.

It's at home with me now and has been open for about an hour. It's beautiful!

If you ever use "FEDEX HOME" delivery services be aware that they are in no way affiliated with the
FEDEX we all know. They are a completely separate entity and have nothing to do with each other.

Guitom kept this guitar in excellent shape and I am very pleased with it. Guitom, if you ever need a reference, just ask!
Now, it's time for new strings and a bit of quiet time.
