The man in brown delivered her yesterday afternoon. It was all I could do to get out of the house to go to work this morning. So I did the only sensible thing. I took the git to work with me. :roll :nana_guitar

First impressions... very nice. Excellent condition. I'm a lucky S.O.B. Great buy! I still can't believe the price! Patience paid off. I'll have to get used to the string spacing and the small scale. But so far I'm liking it.
I put new EJ-17's on it. They are mediums and things feel a little tight right now. Pretty loud. Holds up nicely to picking with the mediums on it. But I will be experimenting with other strings. Some of the ones recommended here and others I'm curious about are on my short list.

Too soon to say much more. I'll have to log some playing time and see if we bond. Right now it's mostly lust. We'll have to see if it turns into something more.
later,

Not that there is anything wrong with a little lust now and then.  :cheers

Thanks Michael! I'm a professional photographer. I work in a commercial photo studio. I use a Phase One H-25 digital back on a Mamiya RZ-67 camera. I wrote Larrivee to see what they could tell me about my guitar since I'm not the original owner.

Omozom--

Nice guitar! :cheers

I also have an LSV11 and haven't made it to work on time since I got it.  Enjoy!  If you have any photography tips for us folks who aren't even sure which end of the camera does what, it'd greatly be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Thanks Dave
The matte finish guitar is pretty simple to photograph. The glossy tops present more of a challenge.
Think of them as a mirror. What ever the see will be reflected in the surface. Brighter objects will be more reflective than darker. The side of a white house or picket fence is going to reflect more than something dark like a row of dark cypress or. It the guitar is leaning back as it would on a guitar stand try to arrange it to reflect the sky. Open clear sky's are pretty good. Even better is a slightly overcast sky. It is beautiful light for all photography. Just be conscious and really look at the guitar when you set it up for a photo. Take a minute and look into the surface from the same angle as the camera. You can see them there. With flash it is the same thing. Choose an angle that wont shoot that reflection right back at the camera. Remember the < of incidence = the > of reflection.
Have fun,
oz

photographers and their voodoo geometry....   :humour:

Seriously awesome looking guitar.  I'm generally a non-cutaway kind of guy, but that is one of the best looking L's I've ever seen.  Could be the high quality of the pictures too, I suppose.  I wish you well with your new mistress.  Treat her well.

You look like you have a pretty nice collection yourself.

Thanks guys. I have been playing her a bit more this morning and sounds very nice. I think as the EJ17's break in they mellow just a bit. Still some serious over tones. I had them here because I love them on the Blueridge dread.

Happy Happy, glad to see you got it home. Man your pics make it look like a satin finish. I have glare light on almost every shot of my LSV.     EJ17s...that's intersting.  Keep us posted. Danny

No doubt! I really don't go for the cutaway look either, but this is one seriously beautiful guitar...

Thanks guys!
I had some serious play time yesterday and this guitar is not taking long to win me over.
Do I dare use the L word.
Nah!... it's still lust. Well that's an L word anyway.
:?

Can I say this to myself?
:nice guitar:

Congrats on the LSV-11 omozom.  Your pictures are excellent.  That is one beautiful guitar!

I know how you feel right now...wait a few more weeks!  Every guitar sounds better the more you play it.  Enjoy...post some soundbites if you can, more pictures...

Congrats again.

Thanks Denis
Yeah this guitar definitely has it's own sound. Very different from any I have had. Sometimes I think it's the best sound I ever heard. Then again I was try to figure out a new tune I was working on and I was playing along with the CD and I couldn't hear my own playing. Definitely not the guitar to cut through a lead in a bluegrass band. Oh well I have one for that. Still getting used to it.
