I've been using Elixir Strings for 4 years. The last 2 I've used Nanoweb Mediums. I understand from the listeners and friends that have played my guitar, that those strings are not very lively... I tried D'Addario EXP lights for a week, months ago, and felt like I was playing rubber bands (sloppy and did not stay in tune), so I have a negative view of the EXPs.
I want a fairly bright tone, so my next strings will probably be 80/20's. I'm a little gun shy of treated strings. But am still interested in the D'Addario's. :unsure:
What do you think of the D'Addario EXP12's?
I've played 'em. They sound great. But I enjoy a jangly sound.....so like everything else, it's a matter of taste. I'd buy 'em again.
I've never had any problems with EXP 11s (80/20 lgt.), or EXP 16s (ph-br lgt.) tuning or otherwise. Consistant quality. I use them regularly.
I have just started using EXPs' and think they sound great, I don't have any tuning problems either. I don't think they last quite as long as the Nanos' but I like their tone.
Repeat of a few posts back; I use EXP 16's on all three of my guitars now.
Not that I didnt like the Nanowebs, but after trying the EXP's I havent seen a need to go back. For that matter, my new LV-BW came w/Dean Markley Alchemy's--didnt do anything for me, put some Nano's on while i was experimenting, then went back to the EXP's and they are THE string for me;
the sound that makes my playing my guitar what I want it to be... :)
