Well, it's been 20+ years since I had an electric, but I gotta say, this one has me twitchin' real bad!!!!

Has anybody played one of these or better yet, own one?
I am doing some home recordings and would like to add a bit of electric guitar sound to some of my work, so I really don't need anything exceptionally special.
I am seriously thinking of parting with my Larrivee D-03 and pulling the trigger on one of these..... so either talk me out of it, or talk me into it!!!! In the meantime, I will have to suffer with GAS!

i'm not very good at talking people out of buying guitars. from what i hear the PRS SE models are a great bargain.
Played one....will own one. I only like the look of the natural though.
I admit I don't know very much about PRS guitars and, being a lefty, I haven't had a chance to play one yet. I did have question about this model though. When brandon says that the PRS SE models are a great bargain and you say that you may sell a D-03 to buy one it leads me to believe that this model is substantially cheaper than most other PRS models. Is that true ? If so, where are they cutting corners on this one ? Is it a set-neck like most other PRS guitars or is it a bolt-on (not that it would be a bad thing) Based on the photo only it certainly doesn't look like a stripped-down base-model type of guitar. I can see why you're tempted.
Thanks for the responses folks....
Tuffy, they are the bottom end line of PRS priced around the $625.00 to $650.00 price point. From what I read on various forums is that it is made in Korea/China but assembled in the USA. Hence the price reduction. As for quality fit and finishing, most people are saying very positive things.... but realistically, they are not the $3000+ PRS models. One half of me is saying, buy domestic support our workers and the other half says you get one heck of lot of guitar at the price I can afford. I guess that is for each of us to decide.
Taylor, I too like the natural finish as as well.... I guess it must have something to do the look of a fine acoustic guitar. It does come in a blue and black finish as well.

When you are considering a new guitar purchase, you must play the guitar and see if it works well for you. I bought an archtop electric, some years back and I have been happy with it. It was an easier transition with string gauge (I put on 13's to begin with now I have 12's) than the super slinky 9's on most electrics. The PRS looks pretty cool to me. My son built a PRS kit for $225.00 There was not much to cut except for the headstock. It was mostly finish and assembly.
