Post by: melanie on January 15, 2008, 04:20:21 AM
Hi
I am interested in the Carvin AG100D , can anyone give me their experiences with this one , good or bad.
Also, I have as yet been unable to find a supplier in the UK, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi Melanie

I have a Carvin TL-60 which is a great solid body electric.   I don't know anything about the AG100D however.      I'm not surprised that you can't locate a supplier in the UK.   I'm pretty sure that Carvin does not sell to guitar stores or other resalers.   You must buy directly form Carvin in So. Cal.
I had them make my TL-60 from the myriad choices of body style, wood, trim levels, etc.   They don't have conventional stores really.  Check out their website for more details on how to order one of their guitars.  They do enjoy a very good reputation as far as I can tell.

I have never used one, but you can find lots of reviews at Harmony Central:

Thanks for the replies guys.
It seems that Carvin only sell online and do not export outside of the US. So, I have now turned my attentions to CRATE. I already have  a battery powered TAXI 30E which is a great piece of kit. I have used it in all weathers in the street, including rain showers and it  takes all the abuse I can give it . I am impressed with Crate :)
I am looking at the CA125D and the CA120D , I favour the 120 at the mo cos it has a 12" woofer and I think in this case size matters for that deep low punch for dancing to .
Any comments on these two
Many thanks so far :)

Thanks SR, your timing is good, I still have time to cancel my present order if one of the 2 dealers Carvin UK dealers listed can come up with the goods :)
Cheers,
Mel

Ok, I have just placed an order with Damien of

http://www.rockstarguitar.co.uk  (http://www.rockstarguitar.co.uk)

I am impressed with the attention to detail he has given. Also, the short lead time quoted of about 2 weeks from the San Diego factory via Damien to my door.
If anyone else is having trouble finding Carvin products in the UK, he is the man.  :thumb
