I have ordered a new Larry Cutaway model Parlor, so I will be selling my Special Edition Rosewood model. It is about 2 years old - purchased new by me. No issues - like new. Great guitar. I love these little parlors - just want the cutaway.

Can you tell me what the Special Edition means for this guitar? It looks like a basic matte finish rosewood parlor, but maybe there is something I'm missing. Am I right in assuming the gigbag is a soft-sided case?

I believe the "Special Edition" specifies wood body trim, ivoroid heelcap, and ivoroid fretboard binding. I believe the body trim is maple - it is very light in color. Provides a really nice contrast to the rosewood.
This one also has ebony bridge, fretboard, and headstock veneer. I'm not sure if that is "special" or standard.
The tonewoods are very nice, but not exceptional. I think that in general you get nicer grade tonewoods with the Larry Parlours because due to the smaller size, they have much more stock to choose from.

Well... yes and no. There are no markers on the fretboard surface, but there are black markers inlaid into the ivoroid fretboard binding. These are visible from the players position, but not to your audience. They are located at frets 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, and 15. The marker at 15 is a bit curious, because the only creature who could actually fret up that high is that ET character from that famous sci-fi movie. You know.... the one with fingers that look like tree limbs with suction cups at the ends. I think Mr Larrivee was giving us a bit too much credit when he set that marker in.
