I wonder if you spoke directly with David Wren at the 12th Fret if he could place an order with Jean for a custom shop?  He and Jean are pretty close and there might be a chance.  Yes, it sure would be nice if Larrivee would work one on one with the customer.... I'm sure the price would be significantly higher though.    :crying:

Yeah, I saw...and heard...that one today.

There's a soundfile on the page...

Got a chance to play that one today and wasn't disappointed.  Very nice sounding guitar to say the least and the wood was just amazing looking.  They may not have a custom shop but there doesn't seem to be a shortage of new custom Larrivee guitars around.  Nice to see and hear something different,  although I like the regular line too.  Some of my favorites are the new 03 Sapele guitars to tell you the truth.  Dave Wren was hinting that something really different was coming from Larrivee next week,  but clammed up when I asked for details.

OOOH, I saw that one and got a strange "gaseous' feeling in my gut.

My Lado Studio Custom 604 Bass has an Australian Lacewood body face. It looks very organic and "chiselled".

Cutaway, what was your impression tonewise?

It seems that JL is making a few custom pieces, almost on a whim, as he sees fit. For a maker that is the ideal "Custom Shop", building something special without all of the hassle of dealing with the whims of the end user (can you imagine how much time must be spent with each customer wanting something "diferent"?).

Wendy recently announced her retirement. Perhaps JL wants to create a few legacy pieces before he disappears.

Hi Ronmac

Its tough to describe the sound.  For some reason the word delicate is coming to mind and yet it was as loud as the regular L-09 I played it against.  Maybe refined is a better word?  I liked it because it had a different quality to the overall sound,  but not so different that it took some getting used to.  Like I say,  I can't put that kind of thing into words.  It caught my attention enough that I think I'll be going back in tomorrow to try it again.
