I bought an Ultrasound DS-50 used on Ebay. The tone was great but sometimes I'd get a buzzing or rattling sound that was not coming from the speakers.
I e-mailed them and Dan Gore got back to me right away, told me to call their service dept and ask for a specific individual. I got that person's voice mail and left a message. He (Greg) called me back long distance within 10 minutes. I explained what I heard from the amp, that I am not the original owner, etc, etc.
They said they have made some updates to the amplifier section and I needed more headroom. Ultrasound said I should ship the amp to them and they'll upgrade it free of charge and mailit back to me....at their cost. All I had to do was pay for the shipping from me one way to Ultrasound amps.
They completed the work within 72 hours, maybe even 48 hours of receiving the amp and I just got it back today. And it sounds cleaner than ever with ample headroom.
I thought I'd let you guys know. They treated me as if I was headlining a tour across the planet and going to be on the cover of Rolling Stone, Acoustic Guitar, and appear on SNL or Letterman. Er...that hasn't happened yet.
Love to hear "excellent service" stories, that's what keeps us coming back! :D
Jim,
Thanks for the kudos about our customer service since we work very hard at.
While it is great to have some stars as endorsing artists, the truth is it you folks like yourself who keep our doors open and we don't lose sight of that.
Enjoy your amp and if you have any other questions please let me know. :D

Man, a little bit goes a long way. I love these kind of stories.
I know of some businesses that never advertise, yet they are jammed with customers just through word of mouth.
Sounds like you found a winner.

It is, I have to admit, although I've never done it. I always figured cattle were tipsy enough. Illinois isn't much better, though! ;)

As a neighboring state Mr. Guitar Adoptions you should know that Cow Tipping is second to the great bike ride across the state since the timing is based on the height of the corn.

My brother spent several years in Ames, Iowa getting his Ph.D. many, many moons ago. People would ask him if he was going to marry a girl from there and his answer would be, "No way. Somehow, some time, she might want to go back to Iowa to visit her mother."
Not sure what he meant by that. ;)
Don
Ames...ahh yes. I graduated with a vocal music ed degree from Iowa State so I know Ames well.

When the big earthquake hits California and the tidal wave from the Canary Islands volcano hits the East Coast, you'll be sitting pretty (only to be hit by an F5 tornado). <_<
