Title: OM-03-12 MT
Post by: rgoetz2002 on June 23, 2007, 10:21:02 PM
UPDATED JUNE 26, 2008: NOW FOR SALE @ $1,000 (plus shipping).

Here are some pics of my OM-03MT 12-string.  I've buffed the finish to a semi-gloss and have replaced the pickguard with a Greven firestripe J-200 style.  It is set up in open tuning for slide (either Spanish or Vestapol), and then tuned down one whole step, with a set of 13-58 80/20 strings.  In my dreams I channel Blind Willie McTell through it.

Thanks, Roger.

I agonized for weeks over which Greven pickguard to get! (really)  My family voted for a traditional OM pickguard, but I threw caution to the wind and went with the J-200 size. ;)   I'm happy with result.

Thanks, Blue.  She does sound sweet---and, I'm telling you, playing slide on this guitar is so much fun & easy, I've lost my GAS for a National Resonator (well, maybe just misplaced that GAS for a while).

Nice looking guitar.  I probably would've gone for the OM guard but whatever floats your boat.   :niceguitar:

I have posted this for sale, for $1,000 (plus shipping).  It is still in excellent condition (just light normal wear) and looks exactly as it did when these pictures were taken, with the exception that I broke one bridge pin and have replaced it with a black plastic Martin pin.

Is the neck straight?  Need to be reset?
Any wear on the frets and fretboard?
What is the action like at frets 12-14?
Any buzzing on an open "G" tuning?
Your opinion on fingerstyle playability and the sound.
Can pickguard be taken off without discoloration?
What do you think shipping to Hawaii would cost?
My apologies for so many questions but I need to know......
